Brownie Bites!

I love brownie bites! Especially if they have powdered sugar on top. Brownie bites are just brownies that you cut into bite-sized pieces and add powdered sugar on top. As you can see, we eat our brownie in many different ways.

This time, I also added raisins inside and walnuts on top.

A little trick I learned baking brownies so many times is, to add half the quantity of the butter they require and complete the other half with oil. That will make the brownies turn out really moist and almost chewy. Yum!

Here’s the recipe for our Black Forest Brownies:

1 1/3 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

4 eggs (beaten)

2 cups sugar

1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract

1/2  cup butter

1/2 cup oil

1 cup cocoa powder

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside. Mix together the eggs, sugar and vanilla. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and afterwards add the oil. Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder until smooth. Combine the cocoa mixture with the egg mixture. Stir in flour mixture. Pour in greased 13 x 9 x 2 in. pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 min.

When brownie is cooled, cut in bite sized pieces and coat with confectioners sugar.

  1. Wow, those look so good, Jessica! I wish I could have a bite of one 🙂 I don’t think that I’ve ever made brownies from scratch…just from a box. Sad, isn’t it? I will have to try this recipe some time…since I’m sure it’s wonderful!

I’m sure your family appreciates all the cooking you do, Jessica! Keep up the good work.

    Blessings, dear friend!

  2. Oh, you should really try brownies from scratch! You won’t be disappointed! They don’t take much time really. About as much as chocolate chip cookies take when you bake then from scratch. Sometimes even faster.

Thank you for your kind words!
