How was your 4th?. . .

4th of July came and went and we had a wonderful time spent together as a family. The day was kind of cloudy though (not much like a typical 4th of July day) but, we enjoyed some wonderful desserts and a delicious lunch!

I wanted to bake something different this year, but in the end, I just made my “famous” flag cake you all know. ๐Ÿ™‚ My sister made some delicious berry cupcakes that we also enjoyed.

The flag cake!

The yummy berry cupcakes with a lemon frosting

These were gobbled up very fast! Thanks Becky for these delicious cupcakes!

So how did you spend your 4th of July? Did you bake anything special, or enjoy the day in a special way? Leave a comment and tell me! I would love to hear from you!

  1. That looks delicious!!! We always plan on making a flag cake, but we never get around to it. Oh well, maybe next year. We had a nice 4th of July, and I ran a 5k in the morning! My first one! Next time, I would love to try your famous flag cake and cupcakes. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Oh, how nice that you got to run your first 5K on the 4th! We just ran as a family on the beach that day which was nice. We want to participate in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

What kind of flag cake do you plan to make? I think you’ve tasted my flag cake last 4th of July…I made it then too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hopefully we can make cupcakes the next time you come. ๐Ÿ™‚
